Our Partners

We are so grateful to our partners in the community who serve as key collaborators in strengthening our communities by investing in at-risk youth and underserved families. These organizations provide much-needed resources for us to run quality programs that provide relationship, coaching and education to combat the effects of poverty and fragmentation in our neighborhoods.

Partnering for the Good of the Community

Community Giving Garden

The Twin Ponds Giving Garden partners with Lakeside and Evergreen Schools to grow organic vegetables and herbs for HopeLink Food Bank. The Giving Garden is an extraordinary opportunity for those who love to garden to give something back to their community--helping hundreds of people living on limited incomes supplement their diets with fresh, organic, locally grown fruits and vegetables, supporting community connections and a healthier urban environment.

Back to School Consortium
Turning Point partners with the community effort to assist low income and circumstances-challenged families in the Shoreline School District and South Snohomish County. The annual Back to School Events provide thousands of students with school supplies, haircuts, and clothing to begin their school year with confidence, dignity and smiles. You can join the effort to provide supplies, funding, or time to make this event an inspiring success. For more info, visit www.btsconsortium.org.

Food4Kids Weekend Backpack Program

The Food4Kids Backpack Program provides weekend food packages to chronically hungry students from low-income households who are at risk of hunger over the weekend when free school meals are unavailable. Every Friday students are discretely given a bag of food containing easy to prepare foods which is then tucked into their backpacks and brought home. When children receive the nourishment they need, they can begin to experience success, academically, developmentally and socially. We believe that when we come together as a community, there will always be enough. No child should go hungry or worry about the next meal. Turning Point is also the fiscal partner and serves on the advisory board and for a broader community effort, Food4Kids Shoreline to ensure that no child goes hungry.

YMCA Summer Camp

The YMCA Summer Camp Initiative at Orkila and Colman provide at-risk youth with experiences that are life changing. The YMCA camp experience includes exploring nature, learning new skills, gaining respect for the environment, making friends, and acquiring leadership attributes. Our partnership with the YMCA Camping Services gives Turning Point youth the opportunity to attend Camp Orkila for consecutive years and then attend Leadership Camp where youth eventually serve as staff.

Neighbor Engagement

We participate actively in our communities, seeking to know our neighbors, find partners and network with community organizations and businesses for the good of the whole. We love to support the good work that others are already doing and join with them, sharing resources across the neighborhood.

The Back to School Event is a community effort that provides school supplies, haircuts, and clothing assistance for families in the Shoreline School District who are living with a low income or experiencing circumstances in their life that make it challenging to prepare their children for going back to school. We are a part of the Back to School Consortium with the following organizations.
